Didn’t have a lot to go on from the artwork on the token but after a search of the good old Web I came across a paint scheme I liked and copied that!
It’s a fairly standard scheme for a priest I suppose, whites and purples, with a dash of gold. Still, I liked it and didn’t want to waste any more time than necessary on research.
Not a lot to say about the process really, other than how I painted the white robe. Usually, when painting white, I basecoat Heavy Bluegrey, highlight with Ghost Grey, and finish with Dead White, but as with the rest of the Mansions figures, I used this as a chance to try new things.
I’d Zenithal primed using Black, Cold Grey, and then White Ink. I’ve just started using the White Ink for this as it gives a much more intense white, which is great for glazing over. Talking of which, I then mixed a little glaze medium into the ink and applied it over the robe and hat, always brushing towards the brightest areas.
This was okay, but it didn’t give any contrast to the robe, so I washed it over with Vallejo’s Pale Grey Wash – at last I’d found a use for it! This was much better but looked a bit messy, as washes sometimes do, so I glazed over again and blended it in a bit.
A final highlight of Dead White here and there, another glaze to bring it together, and I was happy.
I didn’t spend much time on the rest of him, and it was all straightforward stuff, and so that’s another Mansions mini down, next up the rest of his Cultist buddies…
