Just a short post to wish everyone a very merry Christmas, and to give big thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read my posts, leave comments, and follow me.
Christmas is a time for families, many of which I know will take to the table for a game or two, but for the seasoned gamer it is one of anticipation… waiting to savour the unwrapping of their latest gaming acquisition.
So, with that in mind, I’ll leave you with a little poem I put together…
A Gamer's Christmas
In anticipation I look at the tree,
There's a big pile of presents,
I hope they're for me.
I think back to the wish list I gave to the wife,
A big list of games,
But no Game of Life.
Gloomhaven, Pandemic, and Terraforming Mars,
These things I long for,
And chocolate bars.
But the big day arrives and what do I see,
The majority of presents,
They're not for me.
Several for the daughter who smiles in glee,
a few for Sue,
But only one for me.
I take of the wrapper and open the box,
what's inside?
A pack of pants, a scarf, and a new pair of socks!
Your poem made me smile, although I really hope you’ll get a game from your wish list instead. On the other hand, I really would appreciate getting the clothing items you mentioned. Maybe I’m getting old – or boring… But hey, Dobby got only one sock and was over the moon from joy! 😉
Hope you’ll have a wonderful time and happy holidays. Merry Christmas to you!

Glad I made you smile; the best thing about Christmas is making people smile 😁
I’m sure to get a game or two, though to be honest, a new pair of socks would come in pretty handy right now – nothing boring about socks, mine have got reindeers on!
