I’ve got a bit of catching up to do, as this is the first time I’ve touched my computer in a little over a week and I was behind as it was!
So, here’s Viper. I finished her a couple of months ago, if not more, and so I’m a bit hazy on how I painted her – good job then, that I keep notes, of a sort!
Straight of the card art for this one, as I knew little about her and Yasmin, who’s roster she was for, was happy with that.
Green again… The coloured metal parts of her suit were done with a basecoat of Gloss Black followed by one of Vallejo’s Metal Color Steel. This was then drybrushed with Silver and inked over with Black Green Ink.
The rest of the suit was basecoated with Heavy Green then layered up with Goblin and Snot Green, with a few mixes of the two in between. I then made a glaze with the Snot Green and went over it all to blend it together. Highlights were added with Escorpena Green (one of my favourite colours from Vallejo) and then re-glazed.
There’s not much else to say about her really, other than my choice of sword colour. I went with blue, something that would play against the green rather than compliment it. After basecoating with Stonewall Grey, I used a variety of mixes of Elfic Flesh, Pale Blue, Glacier Blue, and White. I quite like how it came out – it gives the weapon a cold look that catches the eye!
I’m up to date when it comes to Marvel figures now. Things have slowed down on the MCP front since Yasmin started at college. I had hoped we’d get it to the table over the half-term hols, but other things got in the way. I’m sure Santa will deliver some more characters to add to our rosters but until then I’ve plenty of other things to be getting on with…
I’ll finish off with the rest of the photos I took…
Excellent work Justin, you must be getting pretty adept with greens now with all the characters you’ve done in this colour. It’s not a character I know anything about, but what you’ve done looks spot on to me.

Cheers Dave – it’s a good job I like green isn’t it!

Very nicely done, Justin! 🙂 You do have a knack for green! I really like the dynamic pose as well!

Thanks John.
You know what they say, ‘Practice makes perfect?’ Well, I’ve been getting plenty of practice with green!
Yes, she is posed quite dynamically, and unlike some of the others, she doesn’t look out of place in the game.

Those greens look great, me ol’ mucker! Its nice to see you painting up some MCP even if it might be a bit until your next game. I reckon you’ll be ready to paint all manner of other green characters after this whether it is Hulk, Polaris, Loki, and I’m sure there are quite a few others I can’t think of 🙂

Thank you, Jeff.
Hopefully get a few games in over the festive period, still a way away though.
Ah! Superhero (or villain) green, as I like to call it. I’ve done a batch with MCP – Viper, Drax, Ronan, Hela, Loki, Gamora, and Doc Oc. At least they’ve all been different in their own way, just to keep things interesting😃

How could I forget Drax, Gamora and Doctor Octopus!? I’m glad you aren’t tired of them quite yet. I can’t remember which it is (AIM or Hydra, maybe?) but one of the more generic villain factions wears a lot of green too… I probably can’t remember their name because they’re rarely a serious threat to the superheroes! 🙂

Brilliant work, those greens are so bright! It’s a bit of a shame that Viper is a bit of a byword for ‘nice mini but rubbish on the tabletop’ though ill admit that I haven’t tried her myself. Incidentally I think that she appears in one of the Wolverine solo films if you’re interested to see more of her character.

Thanks, I’ve had plenty of practice with these shades of green!
I too am yet to play her, or should I say, against her, as she’s on Yasmin’s roster. Hopefully over the festive period and then I’ll mention how it went in my Nov/Dec Geek.
Yet to watch the Wolverine films, on my list though😉
